My love of photography began at the age of 8 when film cameras were the norm, and every click of the shutter button came with a cost. Starting with my father's camera, I learned the ropes under his guidance, gradually taking control of the settings. My 10 birthday was a milestone as I was entrusted with my first camera. By 15 I had my first slr and then My first job at 16, was working in a camera store which included advising adults on their camera choices. When using film, precision is crucial; there's no room for error, and relying on Photoshop wasn't an option. This disciplined approach taught me the essence of getting the shot right 'in camera'. This experience honed my technical expertise to the point that my portfolio got me accepted to college.

After high school, I pursued my passion formally, majoring in photography in college. We invested in and learned on our actual professional equipment we would be using in the industry after graduating. Shooting photos is only half of the artistic process and college did not neglect the other half which is processing and printing. Mastering processing skills in the darkroom not only eased my transition to the digital realm, it gave me a significant edge. Carrying darkroom concepts into software like Photoshop, it became my clear that I had found my canvas. Initially, I was skeptical of Digital photography as The technology was lacking at its start. by 2012, it had advanced into a technology that equaled the image quality of film and that is what opened the door to boundless experimentation. Transitioning to digital was a game-changer; it allowed me to push my creative boundaries without the constraints of film costs. My learning curve skyrocketed, and I embraced digital artistry's possibilities. My learning style is that by learning concepts to keep in the 'tool box' you can apply them at will, to create something really special. A good example of this in my work is in the photos of dogs. I use the principals of shooting birds in flight, wildlife and sports and apply them to dog portraits in order to get a unique look.

So, why choose me? I bring a rare blend of enthusiasm like a teenager embracing digital technology while possessing a formal education and decades of experience with film. This dual skill set sets me apart, as I seamlessly combine the precision of correct in-camera techniques with the freedom of unlimited experimentation and post-processing. I don't favor one approach over the other; instead, I harness the power to create exceptional visuals. As time progresses, this unique dual skill set is becoming increasingly rare. I take immense pride in our work and am passionate about delivering the highest quality products. I'm a photography perfectionist, that never likes to settle for good enough.
